System Software Engineer

Counter Craft is looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Development team as a System Software Engineer.
Counter Craft is the leading adversary-generated cyber security threat intelligence solution powered by deception techniques.
Counter Craft is a world leading threat detection and threat intelligence capabilities, effectively safeguarding against nation-state threat actors and all cyber adversaries. With an established track record of working with nation states its adversary-generated threat detection platform empowers law enforcement and national defence and security organizations to swiftly detect, investigate and thwart advanced cyber threats at an accelerated pace.
You will be reporting directly to the Head Security Software Engineer supporting them in growing the team with a significant focus on developing a highly advanced multi-platform monitoring agent to support the business during its rapid growth phase.
Job Brief
We are looking for a new team member with in-depth understanding of OS internals skills to help us continue to develop and evolve our platform in line with market demand and trends.
You will report directly to our Head Security Software Engineer, coordinating closely with our Product team and the rest of the Development team.
Counter Craft is based out of our offices in San Sebastian, located in Miramon’s tech hub. This role may be located within commuting distance from our head office or as a remote working role in Spain.

As the System Engineering Assistant / Manager at Counter Craft, you will:

What will be your responsibilities?
As the System Engineering Assistant / Manager at Counter Craft, you will:
- Develop and maintain a low level cross-platform solution for Linux and Windows.
- Participate in product design (e.g. new features and improvements)
- Maintain CI pipeline and test suite
- Assist the operations team in debugging errors in production
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Systems Software Engineer
- Expertise in C/C++
- Low level knowledge of Linux internals.
- Multiplatform software development experience
- Strong coding skills with best practices in security
- Python development experience
- Experience dealing with large codebases, addressing issues related to architecture, design patterns, and scalability for both current and new features
- Knowledge in the complete software development life cycle with the objective of obtaining a high quality product from the design phase to production deployment
- Experience with Linux kernel development is valued although not mandatory
- Enjoys working in a high paced exciting and challenging growing Development team
- Take responsibility of developed solutions
- Enjoys contributing to the debate and seeking solutions
- Good planning skills, able to prioritise and discipline
- English language skills
- Self-motivated working style
