Join our innovative team in Geotechnical engineering, Heavy Civil
Within the Executing unit Infrastructure, Heavy Civil, we have three national geotechnical teams, in total about 30 people, all enthusiastic about shaping the future of urban development and infrastructure. We offer a diverse range of assignments, from early stages investigations to multidisciplinary project planning, construction documents, and construction support.
Within the Executing unit, there are geotechnical engineers, structural bridge engineers, project managers, landscape architects, traffic planners, water/land/road and railway designers, risk analysts, air, climate and sustainability specialists, environmental engineers, hydrogeologists, construction managers, and more.

We are currently seeking a passionate Geotechnical engineer to join our Geotechnical group, based in Gothenburg, Stockholm, Helsingborg or Malmö.
Make a difference in Geotechnical engineering
As a part of our global team of experts, you'll have the chance to work closely with colleagues across departments and across office boundaries. As we have received many exciting projects and won interesting framework agreements, we need to grow our geotechnical teams, and are now searching for a experienced geotechnical engineer.
This position offers the chance to undertake tasks on your own as well as engage with various project teams at COWI. Our assignments range from large infrastructure assignments to assignments within urban development, construction technology, industry, and environment for both state, municipal and private clients. You will work closely with experienced colleagues and skilled geotechnical field engineers. You will also be a part of a large international network of geotechnical engineers within the entire COWI group.
We work both across borders and within the local market, in different business areas where we share our knowledge and build strong relationships with customers and colleagues. You contribute with your expertise while you get the opportunity to learn from the best.
Some of your key responsibilities and tasks could be to:

• Work within geotechnical assignments, from early stages to the construction phase
• Work with geotechnical investigations, analyze data and prepare reports.
• Present results and actively participate in project meetings.
• Collaborate with other disciplines within projects.
• Have contact with customers and authorities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and project managers for analysis and design of foundations for bridges, marine structures, and large infrastructure, supporting all project phases.
• Analyze and design earth retaining structures, conduct slope stability analyses, and determine settlements.
• Prepare design deliverables, offer detailed geotechnical design recommendations, and ensure quality control validation of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Implement design best practices, ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements, and conduct site visits and client interactions as needed.

Qualifications
We're looking for a team player who is eager to take on challenging assignments within geotechnical assignments. As a person, you are a responsive team player, communicative and committed, and stimulated by developing business solutions together with colleagues and customers.
To fit for the service, you also need to:

• Have a relevant civil engineering degree.
• Have at least 2 years of experience from projects within Geotechnical engineering (if you have more experience we are also interested in hearing from you).
• Be able to speak and write fluently in Swedish and communicate well in English.
