Technical Responsible - Plant design & mechanical

HVDC is a world-leading division within Hitachi Energy that develops, manufactures, and sells high-voltage direct current systems for power transmission on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit large amounts of energy over long distances with minimal losses, such as between countries or from offshore wind farms to the mainland.

The Mechanical Plant Design team plays a key role in delivering mechanical expertise for HVDC projects across the globe. With around 120 dedicated professionals operating from five countries, Hitachi provides comprehensive mechanical solutions that support HVDC's engineering initiatives.

ABOUT THE JOB

In this role, you will be part of the global Mechanical Plant Design team, your responsibilities will include ensuring the quality of project documentation, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and sharing valuable insights from project lessons learned with your colleagues.
As Technical Responsible your responsibilities will include:

Providing technical solutions and acting as a key advisor to the design team, supporting the design process across multiple projects.
Ensuring compliance with design rules and guidelines, and participating in design review meetings to maintain technical standards.
Monitoring and sharing information on new releases of base solutions and lessons learned, ensuring knowledge transfer across projects.
Leading the integration of lessons learned into base drawings and documentation, and addressing long-term technical gaps with sustainable solutions.
Playing an active role in the global TPM continuous improvement leadership team, driving innovation and efficiency across the organization.

To thrive and succeed in this role, you should have:

A university degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in high voltage plant design, with a specific focus on HVDC stations.
Strong skills in reviewing drawings and 3D CAD models, with hands-on experience required.
Ability to communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.

+ If you also have proven experience in leadership roles, it's highly beneficial for this role.
