The Opportunity
In this position, you will be the leading figure and key point of contact for Roche Diagnostics’ for Solutions Marketing & the Roche Academy. As a member of the Marketing & Customer Insights Leadership Team, you will help drive the vision and strategic direction for marketing across Diagnostics. You will be a key partner to the Customer Areas, Affiliates and Regions with a focus of driving commercial impact. You will be responsible to shape the team, set the strategy, determine priorities, drive decisions and grow and develop team leaders.

Main tasks of the position
  • Serve as a key member of the M&CI Leadership team, shaping the vision and strategic direction of the organization
  • Lead a team of 4 Sub-Chapter Leads (Directors) and a broader team of ~70 individuals focused on driving promotional marketing and commercial excellence across all Diagnostics
  • Collaborate with leadership in the Customer Areas, Regional Marketing and Affiliate Marketing to develop a strong partnership aimed at driving commercial impact
  • Oversee the delivery of integrated, customer-centric marketing programs (product level and above product level) to differentiate Roche and drive customer action
  • Drive impactful, competitive marketing and capability building programs to enhance commercial excellence across DIA
  • Partner with RIS Marketing to develop an integrated marketing approach with our digital solutions
  • Act as a key M&CI liaison with specific regions/clusters, maintaining awareness of business opportunities and priorities, identifying what works and what doesn’t, and optimizing marketing approaches
  • Be an active coach and mentor to members of the Chapter to help them grow and develop in their career

Who You Are

We are looking for a professional with a degree in science, business or a related field and at least 10-15 years professional experience related to marketing strategies and business insights across Diagnostics, preferably global and local, multiple country experience.

You will bring:
  • Strong leadership skills including previous experience leading big teams (20+) are essential.
  • Deep / broad knowledge in marketing, digital marketing, strategic marketing and strong understanding of the diagnostics industry and diagnostics customers.
  • Strategic thinking, communication, planning, and organizational skills are required, e.g., through experience successfully leading and executing strategic initiatives
  • An open-minded, humble, and collaborative mindset
  • An understanding of the commercial environment and ability to apply system thinking.
  • Ability to foster positive partnerships through effective influencing, negotiation, and conflict management skills to achieve alignment up and down the organization
  • Encourages experimentation and has the ability to turn this to scale with a focus on impact.

You are also responsible for building, and then providing effective line-leadership for a global team. Doing so in a manner that is consistent with the Roche Values and leadership capabilities. You will seek to inspire and lead your global team. team to create transformative solutions, and to influence their prioritization and uptake in the wider organization, in order to ensure that customer solutions are at the forefront of Marketing & Customer Insights and deliver its optimal contribution to the Roche Diagnostics Vision.

This role could be based in Rotkreuz, Switzerland or Pleasanton, CA (US).
