Your role

advise on and support the business in the implementation of required measures to comply with Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI Principles and Requirements, as outlined in the Group Data Ethics Policy
execute Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI processes and controls
conduct assessments and review initiatives / models for adherence with Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI Principles / Requirements including, whenever applicable, review and validation of Fairness and Explainability assessments
support communication and interaction with financial services and data protection authorities on Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI topics
monitor compliance of data processing activities with applicable Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI Requirements
support and assist senior management in resolution of ad hoc issues and questions

Your team

The Group Data Protection Office is organizationally positioned with Group Compliance, Regulatory & Governance and is led by the Group Data Protection Officer (Group DPO). It has the mandate to ensure UBS' adherence to applicable principles and requirements and to maintain the Data Protection as well as Data Ethics and Trustworthy AI Policies and related Control Frameworks. The Group Data Protection Office is headquartered in Switzerland is comprised of a central team of SMEs and Local Data Protection Contacts ("LDPC") in Zurich, Frankfurt, Krakow, Luxembourg, Paris, London, Singapore, Shanghai, New York and Sao Paolo covering UBS locations globally. To fulfil its mandate, the Group Data Protection Office works closely with key stakeholders across the UBS organization.

Your expertise

academic degree in relevant area, including Business, Mathematics or Physics, preferably with focus on AI
at least 5 - 8 years proven relevant experience in Data Ethics or Trustworthy / Responsible AI, Model Risk Management or related area, preferably in the financial industry with leading institutions, business consultancies or supervisory authorities
knowledge of either Data Ethics, Trustworthy / Responsible AI, Model validation / risk assessment, ability to identify risks and translate them into operational implications for the UBS Organisation. Knowledge about AI Fairness and Explainability is a plus
ability to manoeuvre within the UBS organisation and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
driven, self-starter and proven ability to organize own work in a dynamic working environment and delivering on different topics within agreed timelines.
flexible, resilient team player with a positive attitude
strong analytical skills to enable structured problem solving with ability to synthesize and express complex issues into concrete outcomes.
