Main Purpose of the Job
To support the Head of Finance Reporting and Accounting in co-leading the group-wide accounting and financial reporting function of Biosynth.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-leading the group-wide accounting and financial reporting function of Biosynth and is spear-heading the company’s financial reporting, accounting and financial compliance activities
- Clear focus on standardizing and improving financial processes across the group
- Support Head of FR&A with a focus on accounting Policies, tax and cash management
- Providing a solid foundation in accounting and in improving the group’s core financial processes both on group and local level
- Generate synergies by consolidating accounting functions as part of the integration of acquired companies
- Support the financial integration of newly acquired subsidiaries ensuring compliant and on-time financial reporting
- Support global tax and treasury management and initiatives in close coorperation with the subsidiaries
- Support the maintenance of proper accounting records on group level and in line with statutory requirements
- Co-lead financial projects in implementing SAP S/4HANA and further developing the group consolidation tool, Lucanet
- Support the Head of FR&A in preparing the consolidated annual, quarterly and monthly financial statements of the Biosynth Group (according to UK and Swiss Gaap) and in monitoring financial audits
- Develop group accounting standards and policies and the group-wide accounting manual, chart of accounts, etc.
- Optimize processes in accounting and reporting
- Manage, coach and mentor global FR&A staff. Develop global “one team approach” at Biosynth Finance and in accounting and work closely with the Teams on subsidiary level
- Champion finance compliance processes.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing
- Coach employees at Staad site
- Cash Management
- VAT returns in CH
- Support continues improvement processes in finance
- Controlling-duties in Staad
- Coordination of equipment and lease financing
- Contact person for accounting and tax issues for banks, insurance companies, authorities and auditors
- SAP: Support projects in the area of finance
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is essential, Master’s degree preferred
- Experience in financial reporting and compliance
- Familiarity with accounting standards such as OR, UK GAAP and Swiss GAAP
- Experience in an international, multi-entity organization would be preferred
- Hands-on experience with financial consolidation and ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, Lucanet) would be preferred
- Fluent written and spoken German and English is required
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards is essential
- Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly SAP would be desirable
- Knowledge of cash management and treasury functions would be desirable
- Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a willingness to take on new challenges
- Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with diverse teams across different locations
