EF World Journeys Transportation Specialist (Operations Department) –Trains’ focus

- Market Knowledge & Trends: being on the forefront of the supply market by consistently networking and researching within the industry, competition awareness, and industry insights
- Source, contract, & allocate: Identify, acquire, and allocate all services and suppliers for the assigned categories, geographies, and suppliers, while also scouting the market for potential new suppliers
- Supplier relationship management: Maintain a positive and constructive relationship with existing and potential suppliers in the assigned market, in keeping with cross-product sourcing strategy
- Inventory Management: analyze, procure, and process adequate inventory levels to meet forecasted demand
- Budget and Quality Management: meeting cost and process efficiency targets by giving EF access to favorable pricing and conditions whilst maintaining a high standard of quality and customer satisfaction; devise, monitor, and adhere to budgets.
- Administrative: Ensure all contracts, allocations, invoices, and supplier updates are managed in due time and that all safety and cost guidelines are adhered to.
- Strategy & Execution: actively participating in setting and delivering on mid to long term strategic direction and supplier segmentation for the area of responsibility; Analysis of market & industry trends, competition analysis & awareness, build a robust, scalable supplier portfolio, collaborate across tours departments.
- Technology: contribute to the development of technology solutions and the continuous improvement of current tools and processes
- Data & Analytics: use data to improve and streamline processes, drive strategy, action & communication
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business, economics, or tourism
- Ideally minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, business management, or a similar field
- Fluency in English required, and a combination of French, Italian, Spanish and any other languages advantageous
- Similar work experience is a plus (especially in trains)
- Strategic mindset whilst actively engaged to run day-to-day priorities
- Experience in the travel, tourism, educational travel, or online travel agency industry along with a strong interest and network in these fields is preferred
- Agile and open-minded team player
- Flexible, quick learner and a proven problem solver
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong communication, negotiation skills and cultural awareness
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Able to analyze and question processes and strives to come up with creative ways of improving them. Think outside the box!
- To be considered for this role, applicants must either be Swiss citizens, EU-nationals or have the legal right to live and work in Switzerland.
