Head Project Management Office (PMO) (100%)
What you can expect:
As Volpi's Head of PMO, you are entrusted with the strategic leadership of our seasoned project management team.
The Head of PMO is a pivotal role within Volpi, responsible for overseeing the project management framework and ensuring the successful delivery of product development and market launch initiatives. This role requires a strategic leader who can align project management practices with organizational goals, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to the Head of R&D, this role demands more than just team management; it's about projecting the future trajectory of our products in the healthcare diagnostics sector and inspiring your team to innovate consistently.
Reporting to the Head of R&D you are responsible for:
  • Develop and implement PMO processes, tools, and policies to standardize project delivery across the organization.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and Product Management to ensure project alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the project portfolio, prioritizing initiatives based on strategic value, resource availability, and risk assessment.
  • Build and maintain a network of external partners that can augment the staffing needs of the projects in case of peak resource demand or add specialty knowledge/skills.
  • Oversee the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring adherence to industry standards such as ISO 134851 and ISO 62603
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IVD and Life Science industry’s quality standards and regulations,
  • ing this knowledge to guide project compliance and innovation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project governance, providing executive updates and facilitating decision-making processes.
  • Ensure effective risk management and change control procedures are in place, mitigating potential project disruptions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in project management, including Agile and Lean methodologies, to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in project management within the IVD, Life Science or related healthcare industry.
  • Proven track record of leading PMO functions and delivering complex projects successfully.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Strong self-motivation combined with a high personal responsibility, degree of reliability, quality awareness and sense for pragmatic solutions
  • Ability for working with people, very high level of social competence, and communication talent
  • Able to deal with VUCA situations and driving the way forward
  • Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written
