Job Description

The Health & Wellness division is part of ADM’s global Nutrition business with its Human & Animal Nutrition and Health & Wellness (Human, Pets & Animal) divisions. The Global Health & Wellness R&D team is present in 6 locations (North America, Spain, Ireland, England, Switzerland and China) and focuses on developing cutting-edge technological and science-based products.

The successful candidate will report to the Pet & Animal Health & Wellness R&D Centre Head and will be based in Switzerland/Lausanne.

The candidate will take a key role within the team, driving Livestock (mainly monogastric Swine &
Poultry) and Aquaculture Microbiome projects to develop innovative and science-based wellness ingredients which will differentiate ADM on the Livestock & Aquaculture Microbiome markets.

Your Responsibilities:

Manage Livestock (mainly Monogastric Swine and Poultry) & Aquaculture Microbiome project pipeline for our global segments
Coordinate multiple project teams to deliver the product roadmap to the market
Leverage your expertise and share resources within other technical areas to define product requirements for new applications, coordinate Livestock & Aquaculture zootechnical studies, and transfer data to business
Be responsible for the on-time and on-budget delivery of all research projects related to Livestock & Aquaculture Microbiome, working with colleagues in R&D, regulatory, manufacturing, marketing and commercial to deliver innovative and science-based new wellness ingredients for farmers
Work closely with R&D team and related functions of the Animal Nutrition division
Support products throughout their life cycle via a Stage-Gate Process including ideation, development, market launch and on-market retention
Help the business develop deep expertise in Livestock & Aquaculture Microbiome and represent the business in customer and conference interactions
Proactively identify, manage and plan for product development risks and mitigations
Support the development of our external R&D ecosystem building high level research projects with reliable partners (scientists and customers)

Your Profile:

Ph.D. degree in Animal Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Veterinary Research, or related field
5+ years of experience in Feed industry R&D, ideally with direct experience in Microbiome solutions including Biotics (ex. Pro & Pre-Biotics)
3+ years of experience in managing research and product development project pipeline
Data driven approach to project ideation, planning, prioritization and execution
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for biotics’ development
Proven innovator, with a track record of developing new ideas through collaboration and translating
strategic direction into tactical execution in a team-driven environment
Executive level communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a global context
Availability to travel up to 20% of the time, Domestic and International
