ROLE SUMMARY:

The International school of Ticino is seeking to appoint a science teacher with DP Physics to join us as soon as possible. The ability to teach secondary Maths would be an advantage, as would direct experience of teaching the IB Diploma but any candidate well qualified and with experience in the teaching of Physics at 16+ is encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should also be committed to high standards, interested in using innovative and inquiry-based approaches to learning and be enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.

THE POSITION:

The International school of Ticino is seeking to appoint a science teacher with Physics specialism to join us with immediate effect.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ideal candidate would be excited by the opportunity to help continue to grow an IB school and experienced in teaching a range of ages and abilities across the entire secondary school age range (11-18 years).

The contract is a permanent contract and our location offers the opportunity live on Lake Lugano in Switzerland or, as some teachers do, commute from the Lake Como area north of Milan.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Essential characteristics for IST applicants:

to be in possession of a university degree in a related subject and an appropriate teaching qualification;
to have had recent, demonstrable experience teaching secondary within the 11-18 age range;
to be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher with a love of teaching and the ability to convey this successfully to students;
to be an EU passport holder or already be in possession of a valid visa that enables to work in Switzerland.
Previous experience with IB programmes is a distinct advantage. Further IB training will be offered, together with relocation assistance.
