About our client

Our client is a growing Venture Capital fund with a mission to combat the devastating effects of climate change. Their investment focus is on niche Climate Tech start-ups in Early to Growth phases of development. They have made significant progress in a short time and built a strong portfolio of investments across Europe and the USA. To continue this growth, they seek to hire an experienced VC Investment Principal.

This role offers a motivated individual with a technical academic background the chance to develop their career by addressing some of today's most critical challenges. What the job involves

• You will be responsible for leading the deal team including research, sourcing and coordinating financial, commercial, and legal due diligence
• Strong numerical skills are required for detailed quantitative analysis
• Participate in closing negotiations of target company valuations
• Work closely with portfolio companies, constantly reassess their operations and performance and provide operational support
• Networking with inspiring entrepreneurs to identify new opportunities, build a presence in the market

Who we are looking for

• Very strong academic record in a technical degree such as Engineering, Science or Technology
• Investment professional with significant prior venture experience
• Proven experience gained within a leading local or international finance investor (exposure to the US market is a plus, although not required)
• Proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a humble and collaborative approach. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate key findings and conclusions to entrepreneurs and partners
• Very strong analytical thinking and modeling skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving motivation
• Ability to work independently, and navigate a fast-paced and complex environment
• Curiosity and passion for potential climate tech solutions, genuine interest and comfortable with understanding new technologies
• German language skills are an advantage, but not required
