Role Introduction
To provide expert human resources and organisational development support and advice through an employee relations lens to enable successful execution of business strategies. The incumbent is tasked with focussing on employee relations to enhance, among other things, the employee experience, internal communication, employee engagement and HR governance in support of creating a high-performance culture.
In addition, the incumbent will be involved in HR projects such as launching new policy and practice, improving our digital employee experience and automation capabilities by leveraging on technology, enhancing our people analytics and insights to improve team effectiveness

Role Introduction
To provide expert human resources and organisational development support and advice through an employee relations lens to enable successful execution of business strategies. Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations Business Partnership
- Handle HR enquiries and conduct follow up actions and investigation as required such as policy clarification, policy localisation and general HR related matters
- Support the People Manager on interpretation of policy and procedures, design of new process and procedures including managing the employee related policies and guidelines as well as on HR projects and the associated communication
- Provide advice and assistance to managers and/or employees on people-related issues including performance, terminations, career development, team development, talent management, and succession planning
- Help to equip business leaders with appropriate tools and knowledge to effectively manage and develop their team members and provide proactive guidance and counsel on people-related matters
- Act as the local lead for performance management activities and administration related to annual performance management framework, system and processes
- Ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied and that all legal requirements are met being mindful that positive employee relations are developed and reinforced
- Participate in the creation and upholding of good HR practices and systems to continuously enhance the employee experience
- Conduct exit interviews and provide the data driven insights to management
- Manage the onboarding process as well as offboarding and alumni activities and engagement
- Assist the People Manager on developing engagement action plans to improve the employee experience
- Design and participate in initiatives regarding employee engagement, communication, and recognition
- Actively support communications activities in collaboration with the Head Office Internal Communications and Engagement Team and the Regional Engagement, Development and Performance Manager
- Assist the People Manager to ensure HR compliance across relevant contracts, agreements, and local legislation to minimise Industrial Relations concerns
- Provide active support in industrial agreements and conditions of service to ensure commitments are honoured and assist the People Manager in discussions / negotiations with the Union and the Staff Welfare Committee
- Support the People Manager in handling of grievances and arbitration
- Drive consistency in HR policies and contracts including implementation of terms and conditions and improvement in agreements to reflect best practices
- Ensure leave, absence and return to work policies are updated and are fit for purpose
- Advise the People Manager and Area Head on areas of legal risk and recommend the best course of action
- Proactively manage the risk of potential legal issues and work with the People Manager to resolve the issue
- Monitor employment law changes and ensure readiness to adopt
- Any other reasonable tasks as required
- Emergency & Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Nationality
- Taiwan Permanent Resident or Taiwan Employment Gold Card holder
- People with Taiwan indigenous status are welcome.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, psychology, law, or a relevant discipline
- 5+ years’ experience as HR generalist and / or HR advisory, business partnering or employee relations experience
- Experience in Industrial Relations and Employee Relations preferred (ideally including successful handling of grievances and arbitration)
- Demonstrable ability to partner with multiple stakeholders and to create and communicate positive changes in a collaborative, convincing manner with the skills to manage expectations
- Ability to manage challenging situations with tact and diplomacy; multi-task in a fast-paced environment; and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity; understanding the issue and using the resources available to achieve the desired solution with sensitivity
- Experience working in a matrix organisation is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of Taiwan employment regulatory and local legal requirements relating to people management, and an understanding of labour law and practices
- Strong analytical skills
- Result orientation
- Strong influencing, consulting, and project management skills
- Excellent local and English written and verbal communication skills including collaboration, coaching, and counselling skills
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills
