Job Summary:
As the Director of Legislative Affairs, you will lead strategic engagement with Taiwan's Legislative Yuan and other key government bodies to promote Coupang's policy impact and advance company interests. You will monitor legislative developments, provide input on legislative proposals, and advance awareness of Coupang's economic, environmental, and technological significance to Taiwan and the region. Additionally, you will manage a team responsible for developing policy positions and building relationships with key stakeholders.
What You Will Do:

• Develop and implement legislative strategies to advance the company's policy objectives in Taiwan.

• Monitor and analyze developments in the Legislative Yuan that may impact the company's business.

• Guide legislative proposals and provide input into the policymaking process.

• Build and manage relationships with key legislators, government officials, and advocacy groups.

• Represent the company at legislative hearings, working groups, and public forums to advocate for Coupang's interests.

• Work cross-functionally with internal departments such as legal, PR, compliance and peers within the GA function to ensure alignment on legislative matters.

• Prepare position papers, testimonies, and briefings for legislative committees.

• Lead, mentor and manage a small team of legislative affairs professionals.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, law or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

• 15+ years experience in legislative affairs, government relations, or a similar role, with a focus on Taiwan's legislative processes.

• Proven track record in legislative advocacy, including experience working with the Legislative Yuan.

• Strong relationships with key legislative figures and regulatory bodies in Taiwan.

• Experience in shaping legislative proposals and guiding public policy decisions.

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment, with a proven capacity to quickly analyze complex issues and deliver effective solutions.

• Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to anticipate challenges, navigate uncertainty, and proactively implement strategies to address potential legislative and regulatory risks.

• Strong analytical abilities, with experience in monitoring and interpreting regulatory changes.

• Leading experience, including managing teams and working cross-functionally.

• Fluent in Mandarin and English.
