In this role you will be responsible for managing and assisting the team on all commercial and financial topics throughout the whole sales/ bid process and responsible for the preparation and negotiation of the commercial and financial terms and conditions with the Customer for large Energy Infrastructure Projects representing Siemens Energy Grid Technologies/Grid Solutions. You will also actively drive/lead the negotiations of the legal terms and conditions with the support of the legal team.

A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role you will be responsible for managing and assisting the team on all commercial and financial topics throughout the whole sales/ bid process and responsible for the preparation and negotiation of the commercial and financial terms and conditions with the Customer for large Energy Infrastructure Projects representing Siemens Energy Grid Technologies/Grid Solutions. You will also actively drive/lead the negotiations of the legal terms and conditions with the support of the legal team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Responsible for all financial and commercial activities during project acquisition.
- Lead/ drive the negotiation of commercial customer T&Cs and consortium contracts with the applicable guidelines, and, in coordination with the relevant departments (e.g. Legal, SFS, Insurance, Taxes, etc.)
- Manage all commercial aspects of the bid: contract analysis, contract deviation, cost calculation, business models, financing concepts, currency, hedging, risks and opportunities, bonds, terms of payment, credit rating, insurances, export control, compliance etc.
- Support pre-qualification process.
- Relationship management with external project stakeholders i.e., customers, consortium partners negotiation etc.
- Relationship management with internal functions, e.g., Management, Finance, Legal, Insurance, Taxes etc.
- Actively create and implement the commercial offer strategy.
- Define Business Model based on business, customer and tax regulations.
- Support the technical sales manager to develop winning strategy.
- Understand customers’ requirements, evaluation method and criteria.
- Understand competitor’s commercial condition and pricing strategy.
- Develop draft of commercial risk and opportunity overview.
- Ensure correctness of appropriate approvals in accordance with actual negotiations.
- Support Business Partner process.
- Provide lessons learned on a contractually and financially comparable project basis.
- Support optimization of sales/bid processes.
- Actively participate in the project pricing process by interfacing with Technical Sales, and Proposals.
- Obtain management approvals together with the technical counterpart.
- Follow, complete and document all required Commercial processes.
- Complete and timely delivery of all financial/commercial relevant documents and information to the project execution (handover).
What You Bring
- A Degree in International Trade/Business Administration/Finance/Accounting/Contracts or equivalents
- Experience commercially managing external customer bids for major construction/ transmission infrastructure projects or managing complex projects during delivery/ execution.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a commercial role.
- Strong writing, presentation meeting facilitation skills. Excellent communications skills; able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) through writing, speaking and presentations.
- Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in teams.
- Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
- The ability to conceptualize & socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
- Flexibility and willingness for international travel.
