Job Description
The Chief Accountant, Ukraine will oversee all accounting operations, ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for our Ukraine business (20 FTEs). Reporting to our Accounting Manager, E.Europe the Chief Accountant involves the management of financial systems, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decision-making. The successful postholder will prepare and analyse financial statements, ensure compliance with regulatory standards as well as support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures. The postholder will work closely with the E.Europe finance team to provide accurate and timely financial information to management, assisting in strategic decision-making processes.
You Will:

Preparing of source documents - sales invoices, acts of service delivery, employees’ advance expense reports, materials and supplies acceptance and disposal statements, fixed assets acceptance and write-off statements.

Basic local accounting/bookkeeping - checking source documents for accuracy; recording transactions with customers; recording transactions with suppliers; recording banking transactions; reconciliation of customer, supplier and bank accounts; recording transactions with materials and supplies, fixed assets, intangible assets; recording transactions of employees’ expense.

Advanced local accounting - checking accounting records for accuracy and existence (supported by source documents); checking the completeness of records of all typical transactions; accounting for non-routine transactions (revenue recognition, depreciation, prepaid expenses, interest and expense on borrowings, gains and losses on disposal of fixed and intangible assets, foreign exchange gains and losses, etc.); preparing and review of trial balance.

VAT services - preparing and registering local VAT invoices, review suppliers’ VAT invoices for accuracy, preparing and registering adjustments to VAT invoices, ensure compliance with VAT regulations preparing and filing monthly VAT returns.

Corporate income tax reviewing company records for temporary tax differences or non-deductible income and expenses, ensuring compliance with corporate income tax regulations preparing and filing annual income tax returns.

Statutory financial reporting preparing and filing of quarterly statutory financial statements ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards and rules.

Act as Chief accountant for CPS Ukraine and be able to sign via QES all needed fillings.

Performing monthly and yearly closing and reporting tasks.

Performing checks on the Payroll calculations of the external Payroll company.

Making sure that company is meeting all local requirements.
You Have:
-
Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other relevant area

Experience working as a Chief accountant
-
Experience working in a multi-national company will be considered a plus
-
Experience with international ERP systems is considered a plus

Fluent Ukrainian speaker

Good knowledge of English (B2 level)

In depth understanding of local and international accounting standards

Team player and good communicator
-
Experience with Payroll accounting will be considered a plus
This is a part-time vacancy of approximately 25/30 hours per week.
Based in our Kyiv office with hybrid working arrangement.
