We are growing and have an open position for a COBOL engineer.
Our client is a US-based company providing market-leading software (Saa S or On-Premise) and services (BPaa S) for Medicare Advantage and Managed Medicaid Plans. The solutions are designed to streamline operations and improve efficiencies for health insurance companies.
Requirements:

• Proficiency in COBOL for legacy code maintenance
• At least 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• English - at least B2 level

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience with or willingness to learn Java is a plus;
• Familiarity with frontend technologies, specifically Angular is a plus;

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance existing COBOL-based systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to legacy systems.
• Assist in the gradual migration of COBOL code to Java-based solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of internal processes.
• Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date records of system changes.
