Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the educational and social development of students with special educational needs.
- Provide support inside and outside the classroom to enable students to fully participate in activities.
- Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce learning and promote progress.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.
- Support students with physical disabilities and ensure their safety and comfort.
- Help with the development and adaptation of teaching materials to meet the needs of individual students.
- Foster a positive and nurturing environment to enhance the emotional well-being of students.
- Liaise with teachers, regarding student progress and areas of concern.
- Attend and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
- Degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology preferred or relevant qualifications such as a CACHE Level 3 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Understanding of child development and learning processes.
