Job Overview:
The Business Analyst preferably with Digital Media or equivalent experience is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions within the digital media landscape. This role involves analyzing industry-specific processes, understanding digital content management, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive business growth and audience engagement.
This role requires a deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on gathering and translating business requirements into user stories, wireframes, and product prototypes.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in Jira, with experience in managing and documenting release notes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Requirement Gathering:
o Collaborate with stakeholders’ (product owners, developers, content creators, marketers, and technical teams) to elicit and document business requirements.
o Conduct stakeholder interviews and workshops to identify needs related to digital content distribution, monetization, and audience engagement.
· Process Analysis & Improvement:
o Analyze current digital media workflows, including content production, distribution, and consumption.
o Identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and user experience.
o Develop process maps and models that reflect both the current state and desired future state.
· Digital Solution Design:
o Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement digital solutions, including backend, content management systems (CMS), user platforms, digital asset management (DAM) systems, and analytics platforms.
o Work closely with development teams throughout the SDLC, providing clarifications and ensuring that business requirements are accurately implemented.
o Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to align project delivery with business expectations.
o Ensure solutions align with industry trends, such as OTT (Over-the-Top) services, programmatic advertising, and personalized content delivery.
· Data Analysis & Reporting:
o Utilize Jira for tracking project progress, managing user stories, and coordinating sprints.
o Maintain and update release notes, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
o Conduct data analysis to gain insights into audience behavior, content performance, and monetization opportunities.
o Use digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to generate reports and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
· Testing & Validation:
o Collaborate with QA teams to ensure digital solutions meet business requirements through rigorous testing.
o Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure that any issues are resolved before full deployment.
· Market & Competitor Analysis:
o Keep abreast of the latest digital media trends and technologies.
o Conduct competitive analysis to benchmark the company's digital offerings against industry standards.
· Stakeholder Communication:
o Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and technical teams.
o Provide regular updates on project progress, potential risks, and opportunities.
· Project Management Support:
o Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of digital media projects.
o Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Educational/Technical Background:
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Digital Media, Information Technology, or a related field.
o Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
o Proficiency in Jira for project management and agile methodologies
o Relevant certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP) are advantageous.
· Industry Experience:
o Over 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on the digital media industry.
o In-depth understanding of digital media technologies, including CMS, DAM, video streaming platforms, and digital advertising.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques.
o Experience with digital analytics platforms and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
o Familiarity with agile project management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
· Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
o Strong ability to analyze complex digital workflows and propose efficient solutions.
o Experience with data analysis and interpretation in the context of digital media.
· Communication Skills:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
o Strong presentation skills, with experience in creating and delivering presentations to senior management.
