Advanced Mammographer

An Advanced Mammographer specializes in breast imaging, performing mammograms, assessing image quality, and adapting techniques to meet patient needs. This role is crucial for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, significantly impacting patient outcomes and the effectiveness of breast imaging services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct high-quality mammographic exams.
  • Evaluate and adjust mammography images.

  • Support diagnostic services.
  • Participate in research to advance breast imaging techniques.
  • Mentor junior staff and students.
  • Contribute to the management and development of breast imaging services.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Radiography or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Mammography.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Extensive experience in breast imaging.

  • Excellent technical and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

1. Perform Mammograms: Conduct high-quality mammographic examinations to ensure accurate and clear images for diagnostic purposes.
2. Image Assessment: Evaluate the technical quality of mammography images and make necessary adjustments to optimize clarity and detail.
3. Patient Care: Provide compassionate and professional care, addressing the clinical, physical, and emotional needs of patients during their imaging procedures.
4. Clinical Expertise: Utilize advanced clinical skills and knowledge to support services, ensuring best practices are followed.
5. Assist in Interventional Procedures: Support radiologists and other advanced Mammographers during breast interventional procedures, such as biopsies and localizations.
6. Research and Development: Participate in research activities aimed at advancing breast imaging techniques and improving patient outcomes.
7. Training and Education: Mentor and train junior staff and students in mammography practices, fostering a learning environment.
8. Leadership: Take an active role in the management and development of the breast imaging service, contributing to policy and procedural improvements.
