Health Transportation Group

Ambulance Care Assistant

Great Yarmouth

FULL TIME

September 19, 2024

Who are we?
HTG (Health Transportation Group) is one of the UK’s largest Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPTS) providers, carrying out over 550,000 journeys on behalf of the NHS every year. We have a total of 11 operational bases across the UK, over 700 employees and are leading the way in delivering safe, caring, high-quality patient transport.
What can you expect?
Working as an Ambulance Care Assistant at our Norwich Base, you will play an important role in delivering non-emergency transport to medically eligible and vulnerable patients who would otherwise be unable to travel to vital appointments or return home, following admissions to hospital.
Whilst on shift, you will carry out your work either as a single man or in a two-man crew and will be driving and transferring patients with varying needs and mobility requirements and therefore are required to hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence.
The main focus for an ACA is to provide comfortable, timely transport whilst delivering high standards of patient care. This is a highly rewarding role, allowing you to make a real difference to the experience of our service-users.
We have full time, permanent positions available, working varied shift patterns (Earlies, Mids and Lates) between the days of Monday to Sunday. More information on Working Patterns/Rota's will be discussed in detail at interview stage.
Salary up to: £23,400 per annum
What will you receive?
A Rewarding job
Flexible working – 16-to-45-hour contracts available
Minimum of 6 weeks’ notice of rota patterns
Market-leading pay rates
Regular overtime paid above standard hourly rates
Contractual sick pay
Full Training - Full comprehensive training is provided for the first 2 weeks and then mentoring with more experienced ACA’s once training is completed
Employee Assistance Programme
Access to hundreds of discounts and free perks via our online savings platform
Regular competitions and prizes
Opportunity for further development into management and emergency care
Refer a friend bonus scheme - Receive £500 for each friend you refer
About you
First and foremost, you will be caring and compassionate. You will be flexible, reliable and able to provide comfort, as well as reassurance to our patients. A friendly smile and encouraging approach will make a real difference to the patients that you help, giving them a much-needed boost before or after an appointment.
You will be lifting and supporting patients in this role and therefore need to have a good level of physical fitness and have the willingness to undergo suitable training such as; Manual Handling, First Aid at Work, Safeguarding, Infection Control and Driver Training.
If you are passionate about people and want to work in a role where you can give back to the community, then consider a career with HTG-UK.
Please be aware that a criminal record check will be requested in the event of a successful application for this role, however we would like to state that a criminal record will not necessarily be a bar to obtaining employment within HTG UK.
