Birth Centre/Community Midwife

London

FULL TIME

November 14, 2024

UCLH, one of the largest teaching hospitals in London, is currently recruiting continuity team midwives. Based near the busy West End of London, we offer a vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. These roles offer the opportunity to develop your skills and experience while making a positive difference to the lives of women and families in the local community.

Community midwives work in local teams, providing an integrated service for women and their families in the area. As lead midwife at a local community clinic, you will work as part of a team to support women and babies before, during and after birth.

Each team provides:
  • antenatal care and support with home birthing, for women and families within Camden, Islington, Barbican and Soho
  • support for women within our birthing centre in the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson wing, next to University College Hospital
  • post-natal care, in-clinic and via home/community visits.
You will be on-call once or twice monthly for home births. A shift pattern including night and weekend working is in place at the birthing centre; this attracts a pay supplement.
Whether working at the birthing centre or within the community, you will be fully supported by the senior maternity team. We pride itself on our commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff: we are ‘one team’. Applications are also welcomed from midwives currently working at Band 5 who have completed their Preceptorship
