Job Title: Caster - Aluminium Foundry.
Reporting to: Production Manager
Working in a manufacturing environment, the caster will operate a tilt-controlled furnace to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into moulds to produce castings or ingots. Quality and production efficiency are at the forefront of the job role.
Working Hours: 38 hours

• Monday - Wednesday: 6am - 4pm
• Thursday: 6am - 2pm
• Friday - Sunday: Off

Role:

• Prepare the furnace and collect samples before production starts.
• Pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into moulds to produce ingots or other castings, using ladles or tilt furnaces.
• Adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or products.
• Read temperature gauges and observe colour changes, adjusting furnace flames, torches, or electrical heating units as necessary to melt metal to specifications.
• Examine moulds to ensure they are clean, smooth, and properly coated.
• Skim impurities from molten metal.
• Remove castings or cores from moulds, using hand tools, cranes, and chain hoists, as necessary.
• Transport castings to storage areas, using forklifts.
• Verify compliance with quality, safety, production standards, work rules, and efficient operation of equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Ensure production demands and customer requirements are met
• Ability to use your own initiative
• Good communication skills (Good standard of English is essential)
• Ability to work under minimum supervision

Job Type: Full-time
