The Role
We are seeking a Clothing Buyer to lead the delivery and growth of departments within the clothing division in line with the unique brand direction and designs. Key to this is effective range planning, utilisation of commercial data and sourcing products that deliver commercial results.

The Role
We are seeking a Clothing Buyer to lead the delivery and growth of departments within the clothing division in line with the unique brand direction and designs. Key to this is effective range planning, utilisation of commercial data and sourcing products that deliver commercial results.
Responsibilities
- Support the Buying Director and senior leadership in developing and evolving both short and long term strategies throughout the product design, buying, manufacturing and logistics process to meet and surpass target margins, keeping profit and the customer at the forefront of all buying decisions.
- Positively impact departmental trade and performance, considering risk and opportunities within the market against our current offering. Maximising sales and profits and acting upon this with the wider team alongside full costing accountability.
- Regular customer profiling, understanding who our customer is through consistent sales analysis and monitoring customer feedback, communicating an understanding of this throughout the business.
- Report on budget, spend, sales analysis and competitor reports and comp shops clearly and effectively within trade meetings and sign offs to senior leadership and design teams.
- Work closely with Buying Director to manage annual production and manufacturing budgets alongside the critical path, whilst developing and evolving product lines and types.
- Work with the Buying team, Buying Director, Production Manager and Technical team to maintain supplier relationships, measuring and monitoring supplier KPI’s and performance
- Identify new suppliers to develop a robust, resilient and profitable supply base.
- Impeccable time management alongside ensuring effective mentorship, delegation and clear communication to team.
- Complete buying trips as needed within the UK and overseas to identify new suppliers and maintain relationships with present suppliers.
- Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Build upon relationships with wider teams including content, marketing and social teams to align marketing calendar with the buying strategy. Demonstrates a mature and calm approach and responds well to change.
- A Buyer or Junior Buyer with experience buying Fashion Accessories, Homeware buying experience also desirable.
- Thorough understanding of the manufacturing process, strong experience managing critical paths and risk.
- Outstanding knowledge of the industry with ability to identify trends and commercial awareness.
- Strong, clear, and competent communication skills, excellent numerical and data analysis.
- Confidence, self-motivation and tenacity are essential.
- Meticulous attention to detail, and broad commercial awareness.
