Job Summary:
The CNC Fabric Cutter at Ashley Manor Upholstery will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to CNC machines that cut textiles for upholstery. This role involves working with a variety of fabrics, ensuring precision in cutting patterns, and maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC cutting devices, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt to different types of fabrics, sofas & soft furnishings.
Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to cut multiple layers of fabric into precise parts for upholstery products for our variety of Sofas & other soft furnishings.
• Quality Control: Inspect cut products to ensure they meet Ashley Manor's high-quality standards and specifications.
• Fabric Handling: Adjust cutting techniques according to the type of fabric and style of the product, ensuring optimal use of materials.
• Pattern Cutting: Place patterns on top of fabric layers and execute cuts according to the patterns using CNC cutting devices, electric or manual knives, and cutters.
• Programming: Program CNC machines and other electronic cutting equipment according to the design specifications and production requirements.
• Set-Up Requirements: Study guides, samples, charts, and specification sheets, or confer with supervisors or engineering staff to determine the necessary set-up and ensure machines are correctly calibrated for each job.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve cutting techniques, machine efficiency, and product quality, and communicate these to the supervisory team.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating CNC cutting machines in a textile or upholstery environment would be beneficial but not essential.
• An understanding of textile materials, cutting techniques, and pattern design.
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications and technical drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Basic programming skills for CNC machines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs and work under tight deadlines.

Work Environment:

• This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to textiles, machinery noise, and standard workplace hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.

Physical Requirements:

• The position may require being stationary for extended periods, lifting fabric rolls, and performing repetitive tasks.
