BS3 Community Development is a well-established charity and community anchor organisation in south Bristol, working across two sites at the Southville Centre in Southville and the Chessel Centre in Bedminster. Our mission is to improve the health, wellbeing, happiness and sense of belonging of those people who work, live and visit in the BS3 postcode area of south Bristol. Our team members are amazing, and we work together every day to this end through our community centres, café, community activities and nurseries.
We’re currently looking for a Community Events Manager to join our team and work with our Head of Community Development to realise our mission.

Location: The Southville Centre, Beauley Road, Bristol, BS3 1QG and The Chessel Centre, Chessel Street, Bristol BS3 3DN
Salary: £16,952.02 per annum for 22.5 hours (£14.45 per hour)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Part time 22.5 hours/ week, including some evening/weekend work at times.
Holiday: 31 days annual leave (inclusive of Bank Holidays), with additional long service annual leave days (capped).

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Main purpose of job
Responsible for the management, development and delivery of the events, room hire and related work-streams across our sites, which includes our fundraising and community-focused events, weddings, parties, etc, that take place in the Southville Centre.
To develop fundraising events, and, in conjunction with others, community events, that encourage people into our buildings to use the available spaces, and drive footfall into the BS3 Community Café.
Key Responsibilities
· Generation of income through room hire and fundraising events.
· Support others to develop and hold community events within our buildings.
· Support and develop appropriate promotional and communication campaigns that are in-line with the charity’s branding to promote room hire, events, weddings, parties, etc, to include ensuring that appropriate pages on our website are kept up to date.
· Work with the Head of Community Development to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools and KPIs and provide required reports.
· To be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the role and charity.
Skills & experience
· Well organised.
· Excellent communicator.
· Positive attitude and able to motivate others.
· Development and management of budgets.
· A demonstrable record of developing and delivering successful fundraising events.
· Marketing experience (to include social media), and a willingness to learn new systems.
· Experience of engaging with local press/ media and achieving positive PR coverage.
· Monitoring and evaluating the success and impact of your work.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £16,952.02 per year
