Care Today and Parallel Parents are looking for a Placements and Contracts officer to join their busy team at their Head Office in Stockport. This is a full time position working from 9:30am to 5.30pm.
We are a child-focused, family run Fostering agency and Provider of Care for children and young people within our Residential homes, we believe that our approach and focus on support and training makes us stand out from other providers.
Care Today has over 40 residential homes ranging from 1 to 6 beds in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Stoke, Yorkshire, East Midlands, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire, and Parallel Parents more than 200 Foster Carers looking after children and young people. We are the largest family run residential childcare organisation in the UK and have been working extensively with children and young people in a wide variety of settings since Care Today was founded in 1991.
The Contracts & Referrals Officer will be a good communicator, confident on the phone and speaking to our clients, social workers and our managers. The successful applicant will be required to carry out the following:-
Main duties;

• Working within the child referrals team with the aim of placing looked after children and young people into appropriate children's homes or foster placements
• Learning the values and ethos of the company in order to be able to offer appropriate care arrangements for vulnerable children and young people
• Working in a fast paced environment, you will liaise with both internal managers, social workers and external local authority teams
• Assisting with the planned growth of Care Today and Parallel Parents
• Using initiative and own ideas to provide input into the development of processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the department

Key skills and requirements;

• High literacy skills
• Good IT skills - the role involves daily use of spreadsheet, word processing and emails
• Good telephone manner
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good lateral thinking to assist with company development
• Ambition - the drive to learn and develop with the company
• Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check which will be processed and paid for by the employer.
• Previous experience working within a similar role or within the sector is desirable but not required

Pay: £23,595.20-£25,084.80 per year
