Camphill Village Trust

Day Services Manager

Whitby

FULL TIME

October 14, 2024

Camphill Village Trust is a charity that supports adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental ill health support. Our focus on humanity and nature was inspired by our past and remains as key to the Trust’s ethos today. This is reflected in our focus on social and green care integration, valuing everyone’s contribution, enabling personal pathways to development, celebrating the changing seasons, and respecting the rhythm of natural life. We operate in both rural and urban communities, building on our care (social) farming legacy. Our historical focus on enabling potential for people with support needs through farming, organic horticulture and enterprise centred on nature and traditional skills, continues to play to our strengths.
Do you want to work with a friendly, fun team in a unique setting that’s more than just a business?
Do you want to help Camphill Village Trust become a leader in the provision of Green Care?
Purpose:
As the Day Services Manager (Green Care Coordinator), you will be tasked with supporting the Regional Green Care Manager, in leading the Green Care team in Botton, to ensure the provision and delivery of high-quality training and educational pathways, and nature-based activities for people with learning and other disabilities to create a sense of accomplishment, personal accountability, and self-confidence in acquiring and developing new skills, while promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging in a land-based community.
Our Green Care opportunities offer a diverse programme of activities that take place across our social farms, gardens and creative workshops, as well as in our social enterprises including cafes, farm shops and food production centres. As the Day Services Manager (Green Care Coordinator), you will assist the Regional Manager in developing and growing the Trust’s Green Care opportunities as well ensuring the seamless day-to-day operations of these programmes while setting out the expectations of individuals contributions and managing the balance between production and support.
To achieve this, you will need to ensure the programme is delivered within the Trusts Green Care framework, enabling rigorous quality control measures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will need to assist the Regional Manager in maintaining the financial stability of the programme. Finally, you will need to lead and motivate teams to deliver a person-centred and outcome-focused approach, ensuring optimal performance and delivery of a well-managed and good quality Green Care programme.
About Botton Village:
Botton Village is nestled in a huge valley on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors. If you love being surrounded by the most stunning and inspiring scenery, you’ll love it here!
We’re quite unique: there’s a village shop, café, supported homes, a walled garden, woodworking and creative studios, massive greenhouses, a 200-seater theatre and stunning scenery at every turn. It is a special place, and you will be part of an inspiring and developing community.
People are supported in their homes in the village. The people we support have a wide range of activities they can participate in or learn. Many of the items we make are sold in our shops or online. Our craft workshops provide creative experiences in woodworking, textiles, pottery and art.
We have our own dairy herd of 37 cows who produce over 130,000 litres of milk each year to make our award-winning cheeses.
Our award-winning cheeses are sold all over the UK – We were awarded Gold at the 2017/18 World Cheese Awards. Our cheeses have appeared on Paul Hollywood’s “Pies and Puds” programme as well as “Remarkable Places to Eat” with Fred & Nadiya.

  • Ensure that people accessing Green Care opportunities have regular assessment of their needs, regular reviews with social workers, family members, and key workers, and up to date support plans are in place, and that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken.
