Role Overview:
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care home. You’ll collaborate closely with the Home Manager to uphold quality standards, adhere to regulations, and provide a supportive environment for both residents and staff. This role involves leading and mentoring staff, managing daily operations, and stepping into the Manager role as needed.

Role Overview:
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our care home. You’ll collaborate closely with the Home Manager to uphold quality standards, adhere to regulations, and provide a supportive environment for both residents and staff. This role involves leading and mentoring staff, managing daily operations, and stepping into the Manager role as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support: Assist the Care Home Manager in managing the daily operations of the care home.
- Leadership: Provide guidance and support to care staff, including assistants, nurses, and support workers.
- Acting Manager: Take on managerial duties in the absence of the Home Manager.
- Quality Care: Ensure residents receive high-quality, person-centered care in line with their individual plans.
- Resident Well-being: Monitor and assess residents’ needs, adjusting care plans as required.
- Staff Development: Supervise, train, and mentor staff, conduct performance reviews, and address training needs.
- Safeguarding: Handle safeguarding concerns, serve as the lead for safeguarding in the Home Manager’s absence, and ensure compliance with policies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain adherence to health, safety, and infection control regulations.
- Communication: Foster effective communication with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Emergency Procedures: Ensure staff are trained in emergency protocols and equipment is properly maintained.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to resident care, staff training, and regulatory compliance.
- Community Engagement: Promote resident participation in social activities and nurture a sense of community within the care home.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Deputy Home Manager or in a similar role.
- Resident Engagement: Ability to understand and meet the needs of residents.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Competence in managing safeguarding issues and abuse cases.
- CQC Standards: Familiarity with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
- Relationship Building: Strong skills in maintaining effective relationships with care professionals, families, and staff.
- Care Planning: Ability to involve residents and their families in care planning and evaluation.
