As we continue to grow, we are seeking Deputy Service Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to our vision.
Job Description:
As the Deputy Service Manager you will take the lead in ensuring the highest standards of support and accommodation for our young people. This role encompasses more than just managing day-to-day operations; it involves championing an environment that is nurturing and safe, fostering growth, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Leading a dedicated support team, you will collaborate closely with key departments and senior management to ensure our young people receive the necessary advice, guidance, and support, to learn essential life skills and successfully transition to adulthood.
Responsibilities:

This charge will be a maximum of£74.70, and any costs are refundable to the employee after completion of induction.

Job Description:
As the Deputy Service Manager you will take the lead in ensuring the highest standards of support and accommodation for our young people. This role encompasses more than just managing day-to-day operations; it involves championing an environment that is nurturing and safe, fostering growth, resilience, and a sense of belonging. Leading a dedicated support team, you will collaborate closely with key departments and senior management to ensure our young people receive the necessary advice, guidance, and support, to learn essential life skills and successfully transition to adulthood.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth operation of the homes, promoting a safe and caring environment for all young people.
- Lead and inspire the support team, delivering supervisions, probations, and appraisals, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high-quality care delivery and adherence to regulatory guidelines and standards.
- Work closely with the support team to develop and implement support plans and safety plans tailored to meet the needs of each young person, ensuring their well-being.
- Conduct regular assessments and reviews of each young person’s progress, working collaboratively with relevant professionals, families, and external agencies to create person centred support plans.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment within the home, promoting a sense of belonging and empowerment for the young people.
- Plan and lead team meetings, and multidisciplinary discussions to ensure effective communication, coordination, and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies.
- Handle any crisis situations or incidents promptly and effectively, ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures and strategies.
- lead on the implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance.
- Promote the involvement of young people in decision-making processes, actively encouraging their participation and listening to their perspectives.
- Hold a Diploma Level 3/4 in Children, Young People, and Families practitioner.
- Hold or be willing to work Level 5 in Children, Young People and Families Manager or be willing to undertake this.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in childrens social care, supported accommodation or similar setting.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, legislation, and best practices in supported accommodation, safeguarding and child protection.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, young people, families, and external stakeholders.
- A compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of young people.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
