Design and Technical Site Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who is technically proficient with architectural information, is highly diligent and has excellent attention to detail, to join the Fraher and Findlay Construction team as our Design and Technical Site Coordinator.

Job details:
Job title: Design and Technical Site Coordinator.
Line Manager: Senior Construction Manager (Dawid).
Salary: £33,000 - £43,000 (depending on experience).
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Monday - Friday.
Location: London
Sector: Design, Architecture, Construction.
Start date: November 2024
About this role:
The individual will be split between our Ladywell office and our building projects, mainly located across South-East London; assisting our experienced Construction Manager with running our in-house construction projects.
Duties to include, but not be limited to;
Technical Specialist:
- Coordinate the Architectural Design; checking what has been proposed by the Structural Engineer and to spot any red flags.
- Coordinate the Structural Engineer design, in particular beam sizes, temp works design and connections.
- Coordinate the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing Design; ensuring there’s no gap in the design brief and details required from the Project Architect.
Site Coordinator:
- Working closely with the Site Manager to ensure they have all the required details from the Project Architect and liaise with them daily on any ‘how-to’ questions.
- Surveying the site (not joinery) and setting out as needed; updating the Site Manager & Project Architect as needed, to ensure all drawings reflect up to date information (+VR for reference check).
- Levels, datums and build ups; Project Architect to specify, Design & Technical Site Coordinator to sense check and instruct.
- Gather information for all technical packages required for the job early on and agree when items need to be measured and ordered (e.g. Steels, Bricks, AC, Sprinklers, Lintels, Windows, Doors, Brick Slips, UFH components, finishing materials, paints etc).
- Checking accuracy of fabrication and/ or technical package drawings from the Project Architect.
- Measure, source & order design technical packages and specific build materials (against spec and budget), as well as follow up and check quality once onsite.
- Monitoring quality of the onsite work.
- Resolving technical issues onsite.
- Book & organise required visits and documentation required for main Services such as. UKPN, Gas, Thames Water.
- Support the Senior Construction Manager on any specific site related tasks as and when required, for example material & third party supplier coordination such as pocket door kits, UFH fittings, paints, grout, matwell trims, french polisher etc.
Desired characteristics and skills:
● Proactive and intuitive / keen to take control and ownership of tasks and follow up on actions.
● Attention to detail.
● Comfortable managing up; transparent and communicative & ability to flag risks to project team.
Prerequisites - previous experience in one of the below fields is essential:
● Architecture
● Construction
Additional Benefits:
● 20 days paid holidays + 8 days paid bank holidays, plus the office and all sites close between Christmas & New Year (resulting in additional paid holiday)
