Job Overview
We are seeking a Despatch Operative, to join the Norville team here at our optical lens manufacturing plant in Gloucester. At Norville our despatch operatives will assist in all aspects of our despatch department. This position is part of a team that is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective despatch of our products accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
*
Ensuring all tasks relating to export shipping are carried out, mainly sending goods globally via the online Fedex system

• Responsible for using the Royal Mail click and drop system when despatching products to customers.
• Regular use of the goods invoicing system (NLS), inputting and interpreting data relating to orders.
• Packing and labelling goods as per customer specifications
• Maintaining and updating delivery logs via an excel spreadsheet
• Applying attention to detail when carrying out inspections of lens quality
• Guaranteeing that all assigned daily tasks are completed to the required standards.
• Ability to carry out other adhoc tasks as and when required.

Quality Assurance:

• Adhere to internal quality control standards

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments, such as purchasing, logistics, accounts and sales, to ensure seamless communication and
• coordination.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.Health and Safety:
• Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all safety regulations and promoting safety practices among the team.

Skills & Experience
Education & Qualification

• NVQ Level 3 Stock Control / Logistics or similar

Experience, Knowledge and understanding

• Relevant experience in inventory management or related fields.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced Excel
• Microsoft
• Previous experience within the optical industry
