Role
To ensure an excellent customer experience through Reading Students’ Union commercial areas. To provide high quality operational support to the commercial team, ensuring efficient and effective running of the bars and events.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the post holder will be:
Pay: £26,460.19 per year

Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the post holder will be:
- Be customer facing, delivering exceptional customer service to our members across all commercial areas
- To supervise and co-ordinate the work of all staff working within the commercial areas whilst on shift
- To ensure all customer queries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
- Duty Management of regular events and supporting as a second Duty Manager on higher volume events
- Support in ensuring that staff rotas are line with trading levels and delivered within budget
- To act as a keyholder for the venues when appropriate
- Ensure all bars operate safely, hygienically and efficiently.
- Support in delivering the budgeted GP margin through price reviews, portion control and effective stock management
- Work with colleagues to ensure that external functions are delivered to a high standard
- Supervision and development of student staff
- To ensure Reading Students' Union's human resource practices are strictly adhered to
- To identify staff training and development needs with recommendations to the Do CE
- To ensure that stock, cash control procedures and stock display guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- To support in ordering stock via appropriate supplier and manage monthly stock take and invoices.
- To support in ensuring minimal wastage through effective monitoring.
- Deal with the handling of income, the safe and tills. – ‘cashing’ up, change and banking
- To maintain proper records
- Support in the preparation staff rotas and control wages using the Staff Savvy system in line with forecasted sales and budget
- Report and follow up maintenance of equipment
- Ensure that TCP/Fidelity database is maintained and accurate, including the listing of drink items, maintaining accurate stock pricing and till layouts
- To ensure that all environmental health guidelines and appropriate legislation are adhered to and appropriate records are maintained
- Provide an excellent customer experience.
- To ensure all customer queries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
- Undertake training as required
Pay: £26,460.19 per year
