The governors of St John Plessington Catholic College would like to invite applications from excellent, enthusiastic and engaging individuals for the posts of Exam Invigilator. The successful candidate will ensure a calm environment during exams and be vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates. Exam Invigilators will ensure that candidates are constantly and appropriately supervised and ensure conduct in the appointed exam room adheres to the College’s exam procedures and policies.
This is a unique opportunity to work for the Holy Family Multi Academy Trust. This post will be based at St John Plessington Catholic College. St John Plessington Catholic College Voluntary Academy has been an oversubscribed 11-18 college for more than 10 years.

In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education, Holy Family Multi Academy Trust will undertake general online searches for all shortlisted candidates, this may include social media and video platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok and You Tube. Online searches will only examine data that is publicly available, and the aim is to identify any incidents or issues. Any areas of concern will be discussed during the interview process. To assist in this part of the process we would appreciate it if you would complete the attached Social Media form and return it with your application.
The successful applicant will be subject to relevant clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service. All applicants will be considered on the basis of suitability for the post regardless of sex, race or disability. All applicants invited to interview must evidence their right to work in the UK.

Key responsibilities:
- Help keep all papers and materials secure at all times.
- Prepare the exam room for candidates arrival (lay out candidates cards, equipment and papers)
- Help to organise students at the start and end of each exam
- Helping to provide the correct information and material for successful completion of the exam
- Helping to ensure that the conduct of the exam takes place within the guidelines set down by the examination board and the school's Examination Policy
- Being vigilant, whilst not disrupting the candidates
- Reporting in the event of any discrepancy or irregularity in the progress of an examination directly to the examination officer
- At the end of examinations to help make sure that answer booklets have been completed correctly, and to help ensure that question numbers have been entered in the appropriate box on the front of the answer booklets
- Collecting exam scripts in order, by candidate number
