Working hours will be Monday to Friday 6-2, 2-10 rotating however, until factory production starts, hours will be Monday to Friday 9-5.
Job Description
The efficient operation of bagging machines and case packers, setting up the machines, ensuring that product is properly bagged without causing any damage. You will monitor the bagging process, making adjustments to the machine settings as needed to maintain optimal performance. Regular inspections are conducted to verify the quality of the bagging, and any issues are quickly addressed through troubleshooting and minor adjustments to set up. The operator also performs routine maintenance on the machine to ensure its longevity and reliability. This role requires mechanical aptitude.
Reporting to the Packing Area Line Leader, the role covers the following:
Key Areas of Responsibility:
1. Ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
2. Operate the bagging/case packer machines and associated equipment, in such a way that ensures that all tasks are safely and correctly completed in line with company procedures, processes and relevant SOP’s, especially during break relief.
3. Understand and comply with the product run plans.
4. Ensure that product is packaged correctly with the correct weight and the correct packaging with the correct shelf life and tagging.
5. Any required checks are carried out on time and any required documentation is completed in full, with appropriate actions carried out and recorded.
6. Traceability maintained.
7. Metal detection is carried out on time and any required documentation is completed in full with appropriate actions carried out and recorded.
8. Xray checks are carried out on time and any required documentation is completed in full, with appropriate actions carried out and recorded.
9. GMP and housekeeping standards are maintained, and audit is ready.
10. Reporting any packing issues that are identified to the area line leader.
11. Complete any ad hoc requests from either the Shift manager or other functional leads.
Key Requirements:
1. Manual Handling trained and in date.
2. Metal Detection Trained.
3. Xray Trained.
4. COSHH Trained.
5. Be trained against all relevant SOPs and work instructions.
6. Be allergen trained.
About You
1. Has a good standard of verbal and written English required to meet site safety rules and enable the Associate to fully understand and pass mandatory training.
2. Can routinely follow instructions.
3. Flexible to vary tasks undertaken and can complete repetitive tasks diligently and quickly.
4. Be able to demonstrate good team working and behaviours in line with the GB Beliefs.
5. Can work independently, when required.
6. Has good attendance and is punctual, arriving in work area on time.
7. Complies with break allocation, schedules, and cover.
8. Understands all the safety and food safety processes for the area in which they work and can fully explain them. Used to working in a fast paced production environment.
9 . Focused on quality and able to produce products to a high standard
10. Working either independently or within a team.
11. Achieve team objectives.
12. Be consistent, accurate and ensure that procedures are followed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.64 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
