Job Summary

• Assist with hands on operation of acceptance of waste into landfill.
• Assist with compliance (material coming onto and off site).
• Responsible for managing stock reports.
• Assist with non- conformance procedures on incoming waste streams
• Collaborate with Supervisors to ensure site targets/kpi’s are achieved
• Assist with Laboratory KPI’s.
• Assist with sample process
• Assist with running of all operational and other sampling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively support and embed a generative safety culture.
• Assist with the daily/weekly plan for the operational areas and laboratory, adapt to the unplanned and unexpected to deliver targets, KPI’s and other requirements.
• Ensure compliance of all waste coming into site (physical and administrative), utilise appropriate system to manage non- compliance.
• Liaise with other staff to ensure correct routing of wastes
• Ensure house-keeping requirements and continuous improvement programmes are supported both directly and through the plant team.
• Ensure technical compliance of all activity including partaking in audits.
• Partake in improvement of process contributing to micro project development and improving the velocity of the process plant.
• Undertake area administration activity including Chemist Check sheets, process sheets, stock sheets, production records, etc.
• Undertaking specific tasks as per business requirements
• Maintaining continuous professional development and competence for the role
• Any other reasonable duties as and when required.

Critical Qualifications

• Degree level Chemistry qualification
• Numeracy and literacy.
• Computer skills – keyboard, Word, Excel.

Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Handling of a diverse range of chemical compounds including understanding of inter-reaction.
• Forklift licence and waste industry experience advantageous.
• Good knowledge of waste processing compliance issues and enforcement.
• Good organisation skills
• Right first time mentality.
• Can-do attitude, able to buy into the need for change (an everlasting activity).
• Able to work efficiently in what can be an unstructured situation, learn from it and bring structure next time around.
• Able to undertake physical work on a continuous basis.

• The successful candidate will need to be able to work outdoors in all weather, be good at collaboration and following instructions and safety rules

• The successful individual will require their own transport as the role is based in an area not convenient for public transport

Pay: £25,044.00-£27,000.00 per year
