Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead on co-ordinating appropriate intervention strategies for students in your year group who experience barriers to their learning and/or whose attendance, behaviour or achievement is a concern
  • To manage and implement all required sanctions and fulfil detention duties when required
  • To liaise with relevant colleagues to agree appropriate mentoring for any disadvantaged or disaffected students not already identified and/or those at risk of disengagement.
  • To work with identified vulnerable students, targeted students with attendance concerns (e.g. attendance deteriorating or returners to school), and any others requiring support in partnership with existing academy systems
  • To work with students and liaise with parents, appropriate staff and external agencies regarding student welfare, pastoral, transition, health and attendance issues and ensure all staff are aware and act on this information


Pay range: MPS/UPS £31,650 - £49,084 + TLR2c £8,279



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in relevant subject
  • Proven experience in delivering outstanding teaching & learning
  • Commitment to the academy's values and ethos

North Birmingham Academy is a co-educational academy school based in Birmingham for students aged 11-19.
E-ACT sponsors the school. The standard admission number for North Birmingham Academy is 180.
The school underwent major redevelopment in 2013 and is built over 10,500m2 set in over 16 acres of landscaped grounds. Its £23.6m purpose built facility hosts a selection of services which benefit its students. It comprises dedicated zones for learning support, a self-contained sixth form and extensive sports facilities.
