Home Carer – Vacancies throughout Carmarthenshire
Permanent posts with a range of contract hours up to 35 hours per week (casual working arrangements available)
Grade E - £13.59 - £15.30 per hour (includes weekend working)
Our rates of pay are highly competitive with similar posts across the Health and Social Care sector.
Not only is the hourly rate for guaranteed contracted hours amongst the best paying in Wales we are also able to offer a range of other benefits such as pay to travel between calls plus 45p per mile for personal car costs, use of pool cars, access to reward schemes, a highly rated pension scheme, generous paid holiday entitlement, maternity & paternity allowances and much more.
Uniforms, bags, personal protective equipment (PPE), and mobile phones are provided to all of our home carers to access their rosters and information about what’s happening in the service and the wider county council, including staff discount schemes.
Being a home carer, your duties will include providing personal care (e.g. helping people to bath, wash, dress, use the toilet), meal preparation, giving medication and helping service users with rehabilitation to help them regain their independence.
You will have extensive training and support to gain the skills and confidence needed to be a great carer. Its hard work but rewarding and you will be part of a big organisation with opportunities to progress. You will be welcomed into a Carmarthenshire County Council Home Care Team that wear their uniforms with pride, supporting some of our most vulnerable residents in local communities. This is an opportunity for you to make a real difference, where your support will enable people with care needs (mainly but not exclusively elderly) to live in their own home when it has become too difficult for them to manage alone.
If you have any previous experience of working in a health or care setting, we are particularly interested in hearing from you.
