Housing Maintenance Operative

As part of an exciting programme of growth, including the opening of a brand new supported housing scheme in Blaby, we require a Housing Maintenance Operative to work across our Leicester and Leicestershire based supported homes, 30 hours per week.

Job Summary:
To be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the supported housing accommodation, ensuring a safe and secure environment, completing all tasks and work as part of the team in accordance with NH&S organisational values:
As the role involves working across our Leicester based supported housing schemes, the successful candidate will need a driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Job Summary:
To be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the supported housing accommodation, ensuring a safe and secure environment, completing all tasks and work as part of the team in accordance with NH&S organisational values:

- Applied knowledge and experience in property maintenance - trade skills in basic plumbing, painting, and decorating
- Good understanding and ability to conduct routine maintenance tasks, and minor planned and responsive repair works within properties, in line with health and safety requirements and that meet building safety regulations and legislation.
- Proven ability to organise self and prioritise to meet deadlines with good time management skills
- Warm, Empathic and non-judgmental approach, as the role will involve providing services to people with mental health needs and those who have experienced homelessness. Previous experience in a supported housing or similar environment would be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to use a computerised customer/job management system, Microsoft Outlook emails and calendar, Word and Excel
