Laurel Park School is the new school for Palmers Green and Southgate.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly effective Lead Practitioner - Math Specialist. Like us, you will be dynamic, innovative and hardworking. You will also have exceptional knowledge, a desire to positively impact upon our students and a firm commitment to high academic achievement. Above all you will be dedicated to giving all our students an outstanding education.
The post holder will be an integral part of our Teaching and Learning Team, leading on teaching and learning initiatives and strategies throughout the school.
Do you have the ability to?
- Raise the teaching practice of all members of staff, and therefore raises student standards and progress.
- Be a model of excellent practice, maintaining a clear focus on outstanding delivery to learners ensuring a centre of best practice and excellence.
- Take a lead role, working closely with the senior leadership team and other leading practitioners in developing, implementing and evaluating policies and practice that lead to school improvement.

Supporting high quality teaching is pivotal in improving children’s outcomes.
Here at Laurel Park School your Training and Development is important to us. There are opportunities to develop and grow yourself and we encourage that you take positive steps to embrace these opportunities.Every Wednesday afternoon the staff receive professional development training. The range of training on offer is vast including - supporting EAL students, Using Artificial Intelligence for reducing workload, safeguarding, managing behaviour, phonics and adaptive teaching strategies. We meet termly to share good practice through Teach Meets and every teacher chooses a Teaching & Learning working group to develop a greater understanding of that area. These groups include foci like ‘raising achievement of boys’, ‘developing expectations for exercise books’ and ‘developing extended writing skills’.
