Lift Engineer - Lift Industry

Hoistway has been supplying elevator products across the marketplace since 2001, with a reputation for excellent customer service.
We operate from Bristol, Cardiff, and our head office is in Martock, Somerset, covering all the UK and beyond. We have multiple installations in London, Scotland, the North and Midlands, and even as far afield as Gibraltar, Sweden and Bermuda. We look after lifts for clients across the UK, offering every service from a full lift modernisation to simple adjustment service contracts.
With our goal of enhancing the high-quality installation and services that are associated with our name, we have recently become a member of KLEEMANN Group of Companies, looking forward to expanding our service area and facility, powered by this incorporation.
This is a full time and permanent role. based at our Head Office in Martock, Somerset.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with site staff and wider workforce team to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Oversee and competently carry out maintenance/service visits, emergency callouts and services
  • Work efficiently and in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Manage manual handling, heavy lifting and work at heights in adherence to safety protocols.
  • Contribute to a customer-focused environment, ensuring projects meet deadlines.
  • Liaise directly with the customer whilst on site and build good working relationships.
  • Recognise and rectify faults efficiently.
  • Follow lift manuals and diagrams accurately when necessary.
  • Must have excellent technical reporting and communication skills.
  • Keeping up to date with latest standards and directives associated with lifts.
  • Implementation of Company policies, quality, safety and environmental systems.
Required skills:
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of the industry on site as a lift engineer.
  • Excellent knowledge, must be able to identify a wide variety of parts, and how to troubleshoot, service, install and repair them.
  • NVQ3
  • Full and clean UK driving licence due to size of the area covered.
  • To be a team player
  • To be self-motivated
  • To be accurate with attention to detail
  • Have experience with Teams and general office documents (Word, Excel etc) and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Have experience with working in a fast-paced environment.
  • To be adaptable and have awareness of timeframes.
  • Be comfortable with making & receiving telephone calls & teams video meetings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
