Job Title: Nursery Lunch Time Supervisor

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Lunch Time Supervisor at The Barn Day Nursery. As a Lunch Time Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of nursery children during their lunch period. This position is a part-time role, working during term-time only, providing an excellent opportunity for those looking to contribute to the development and happiness of young children in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities:

• Supervise Lunchtime Activities: Monitor and supervise children during their lunch break, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
• Assist with Mealtime Procedures: Support children in their lunchtime routines, including helping with handwashing, setting up eating areas, and promoting good eating habits.
• Cleaning Duties: Responsible for cleaning dishes and utensils after snack and lunch times. Additionally, perform additional cleaning duties as outlined by the management (e.g. laundry).
• Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among children, fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.
• Handle Emergencies: Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or issues that may arise during lunchtime, following nursery policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Nursery Staff: Work closely with nursery staff to communicate any concerns, observations, or incidents related to children's well-being and behaviour.
• Support Inclusive Practices: Ensure that all children, regardless of individual needs, are included and supported during lunchtime activities.
• Maintain a Clean Environment: Assist in maintaining a clean and tidy lunch area, ensuring that hygiene standards are met.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS Check: A valid Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role.
• Training Provided: Training in relevant areas, including safeguarding and first aid, will be provided.
• Reliability: Punctuality and reliability are essential for this role, as the hours coincide with the lunch period.
• Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults, fostering positive relationships.
• Caring and Patient: Demonstrate a caring and patient demeanor, understanding the needs and behaviours of young children.
