Our team of master craftspeople are bespoke silver and gold specialists and among the most talented artisans and metalworkers in the world. The priceless pieces they create are packaged and presented immaculately at our workshop, before being promptly delivered to our clients based all over the world.
The Role
Thomas Lyte is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Machine Engraver to work in our state-of-the-art London workshop.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role represents an integral part of the workshop team, contributing to the creation of some of the world’s most iconic sporting trophies as well as an array of bespoke pieces, both modern and historic.
As with all roles within our workshop, we must emphasise that total concentration and focus is required at all times to ensure the safety of all personnel. This is a busy working environment and successful applicants will need to be fully conscious and mindful of the pace and strength of machinery being operated.

- Machine engraving – engraving silver and gold trophies, awards and other bespoke products using a Gravograph IS400 Volume machine.
- The role will involve the preparation of artwork, setting-up the engraving machine with the appropriate engraving tools and engraving itself.
- Make appropriate tooling/jigs to hold the work on the machine. Training will be provided on using the lathe if required.
- Assisting with quality control of all finished productions to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
- Actively contributing new ideas to the dynamic environment and working closely with staff throughout the company.
- Previous experience in a similar personalisation role (preferably more than 5 years).
- Previous experience in the use of Gravograph IS400 Volume machine.
- Previous experience in the use of CNC machines.
- Experience and understanding in the setting up of machines.
- Knowledge of the following software programs: Rhino, CAD, Z-Brush, Adobe Illustrator and any understanding of 3D Printers and printing.
- Able to use a lathe (or willing to learn, training can be given) to turn jigs.
- Understanding and creating templates and setting up the engraving machine.
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain precise standards and ensure the highest levels of quality at all time.
- Excellent judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Capacity to grasp concepts and problem solve.
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks and be commercially aware.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written and the ability to interact well with others.
- Computer literate.
- Driven, motivated and enthusiastic.

- Provide evidence of their right to work in the United Kingdom

- Where relevant (given the nature of the physical and mental requirements of the role), a pre-employment medical assessment
Pay: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
