Job Title: Medical Receptionist
Accountable to: Reception Manager and Practice Manager
Hours: Part time
We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic new faces to expand our Reception team at Banbury Road Medical Centre.
This role offers an interesting and varied day covering all non-clinical areas within the Practice, assisting patients with their health queries and liaising with clinicians. Previous experience within a GP practice would be an advantage but is by no means essential as full training will be given.
Our operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 08:00-18:30, with working hours split fairly among team members to cover. (Very occasional Saturday mornings are expected - paid at time and a half)
Main duties include but are not limited to:
· Registering new patients. To have knowledge of the area covered by the practice (Practice boundary)
· Managing prescription requests
· Dealing with Emails and E-Consultations
· Answering patient queries
· Scanning Documents and filing them electronically
· Preparing the surgery for opening and closing
· To undertake training as appropriate
· To undertake other administrative duties allocated by the Practice Manager, or Team Leaders as required
About Us
We are a GP practice with approximately 10,600 patients, a clinical team that includes 6 GPs, 2 practice nurses, midwife, physiotherapist, phlebotomist and pharmacist, supported by the Patient Services Team and Medical Secretary.
Located in the Summertown area of Oxford with a short walk from excellent bus routes. We are focused on the well-being of our staff and offer excellent mentorship, for the right candidate.

99% of surveyed patients found our reception team to be helpful which ranks us at number 45 out of all 6400 NHS surgeries in England. This puts our reception team in the top 0.7% for patient ratings nationally.
95% of patients felt it was easy to get through to reception on the telephone.

Pay: Starting at £12.50 with pay reviews for all staff on annual basis.
