An exciting marketing role has opened for the right candidate to join the council Marketer, to provide effective support to the Community, Events and Communications Officer whilst studying for a Multi-Channel Marketing L3 Apprenticeship. This comprehensive role will suit some across all marketing avenues with a creative flair and desire to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:

• To assist co-ordination of all events and to develop activities and services provided at the Community Hub at Lancing Parish Hall.
• To manage the website and social media platforms to ensure positive and transparent
• communication.
• Assist in pursuing grant funding for community work.
• Develop ideas for new events and services.
• Manage and attend all events.
• Produce, develop and review event risk assessments.
• Assist managing the Parish Councils web site, Facebook and develop other social platforms ensuring regular and relevant content.
• To assist producing press releases, newsletters and articles in collaboration with the CEO/Clerk.
• To undertake projects, carry out research and prepare reports as defined by the CEO/Clerk or the Community, Events and Communications Officer.
• To ensure GDPR is complied with
• General administration and dealing with the public, including answering the telephone, emails, other correspondence, and reception desk cover.

Working Week: 10am-4pm – 6 hours per day 30 hours per week to include one day for college release. If the college is closed the expectation will be to complete course work in the office on that day.
Salary: £17,550 per annum (£11.25 per hour - Please see information on the Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage below)
Qualifications Required: Math and English GCSE minimum grade 4 is required to apply.
About the employer: Lancing Parish Council is made up of 16 Councillors or Members who are elected to serve a four-year term. The Parish Council is supported by the Parish Office Team consisting of: The Parish Clerk, Deputy Clerk, Operations Manager, Communities, Events and Comms Officer, Inspector, Parish Administrator, Grounds Team and Caretakers.
Things to consider:

• You MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship.
• You MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK.
• You MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study.
• 18-month apprenticeship (training period) excluding End Point Assessment
• There is possibility of a full time role at the end of the successful completion of the course.
• Free staff parking is provided at the Parish Hall
• Uniform is provided.
• Candidates invited for interview will need to complete pre-work prior to interview consisting of a presentation on a given subject at interview

Further Information: Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £6.40 per hour (As of the 1st April 2024). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16 to 18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
