Sawston Nursery is operated by Sawston Childcare Ltd, a non-profit making charitable company. Sawston Nursery is an Outstanding childcare provider, rated by OFSTED this year, and is only a few miles from Cambridge. The Nursery is purpose-built with excellent facilities for childcare and pre-school education. It is situated in a peaceful road, with free off road parking.
The Nursery provides a safe, stimulating, learning environment for children and their families where we believe that all children are entitled to high quality learning and teaching. This will give them the skills they need to prepare themselves well for the future.
We have an exciting new role available in the Nursery, for the successful candidate, on a permanent, on full time basis. We are flexible with the start date, if you would prefer to bring the start date forward .
Working 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, 41 hours and 40 minutes per week.
(Please note the above role is all year round, and not term time only positions).
Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications and is negotiable for suitable the applicants.

Main Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining and developing the safe, educational ‘Learning through Play’ environment.
Assist trained staff in planning and recording the activities offered to each child.
Be aware of Health and Safety issues.
Prepared to take on any relevant duties determined by the employer from time to time.
Attend whole staff meetings and assist with events outside Nursery as and when required.
Be prepared to train in Paediatric first aid, safeguarding children and basic food hygiene.
Qualities and Experience Required
NVQ Level 2 in Childcare, is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.
You will have a professional and mature approach to work.
You will need to be flexible in relation to the classroom you work in and your working hours.
Reliable and conscientious in your care of the children.
You will need to be an effective team member.
Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced criminal records check (DBS) and full pre-employment checks, together with two references
