Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team of Carers with specialised skills. As a Paediatric Carer, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with complex healthcare needs, including those requiring tracheostomy, mechanical ventilation, Gastro feeding, airway management, oral/nasal suctioning, bowel management, moving and handling, dystonia care, epilepsy management, autistic and challenging behaviour management, and personal care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised care and support to individuals with complex healthcare needs.
- Utilize your specialised skills to meet the specific needs of each individual.
- Assist individuals with personal care activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medication, manage and maintain medical equipment, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness, and ensuring proper documentation in accordance with established protocols.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observations, and changes in individuals' health conditions.
- Implement and follow care plans, including dietary requirements and mobility exercises.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, following established procedures and protocols.
- Promote independence and ensure the dignity and privacy of individuals at all times.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for individuals and their families.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and other team members to ensure coordinated care.
Additional Requirements:
Passion for caring: We are looking for individuals who have a genuine passion for providing care and support to vulnerable individuals.
Full training: While prior experience in some or all the specialised skills is desirable, we are willing to provide full training for candidates who demonstrate the right attitude and commitment.
English proficiency: For candidates whose first language is not English and have not been educated in English, a minimum IELTS score will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
Qualifications and Skills:
Relevant healthcare qualification or certification (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care).
Previous experience in a care or healthcare setting is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and infection control practices.
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
