The Temple department is seeking a committed individual to fill the full-time (40 hours), permanent, Housing Clerk position at the London Temple. In the role of Housing Clerk, your duties will play a crucial role in assisting by providing necessary temple laundry services and creating an environment where patrons can have a positive and uplifting experience each time they visit the temple.

  • Sees that sufficient laundry material is on hand to supply patrons.
  • Folds all temple laundry.
  • Operates commercial laundry equipment. Spot cleans clothing with appropriate cleaners and solutions and assists with steam pressing.
  • Sorts soiled clothing and keeps work area neat, clean and orderly.
  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on laundry equipment such as routine cleaning of machinery, filters, vents and screens, etc. and performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Experience with laundry equipment helpful.
  • Sewing and alteration skill desired but not mandatory.
  • Must be able to lift 20 kilos; bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push and perform physically demanding work in a fast-paced work environment;
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
