Payroll/HR Assistant

We are an established Main Contractor, based in Glasgow, London, Bristol and Manchester, undertaking new build, refurbishment, facades, and insurance reinstatement work within the industrial, commercial, residential, and retail sectors throughout the United Kingdom. We celebrated our 40th year anniversary of trading recently and have a proven record of accomplishment in high-performance project delivery.
We are seeking a Payroll & HR assistant to join our back office team in Glasgow. This will be a full-time position on a permanent contract, in a fast-paced environment at our Head Office in Govan. Reporting to our Accountant, you will be assisting with various administrative duties within HR and Payroll.
Duties include
- Processing of the monthly and weekly payroll via Sage 50.
- Carrying out various administrative duties relating to the company pension plans.
- Processing of employee expenses and ensuring both accuracy and compliance with company policy.
- Updating Sage 50 and Sage HR with new start and leaver information.
- Reporting on employee absences and holiday accruals.
- Provide general support to the accounts and HR team as required.
- Providing administrative support relating to BBP’s employee training and development plans such as applying for CITB grants.
- Update of organisational structure charts for internal and external purposes.
- Assisting with telephone enquiries.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
- Candidate must be hardworking, reliable and resourceful.
- Discretion when dealing with confidential information.
- Previous experience of working in an accounts or HR department.
- Training will be provided for the right candidate, but strong knowledge of Sage 50 payroll and a basic knowledge of Sage 200 is preferred.
- Celebrating 40 years in the industry with a proven track record in high-performance project delivery.
- Pipeline of work until Q3 2027, with over £300m in forthcoming projects tendered in 2023.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £20,244.17-£28,161.80 per year
