The Role:
As Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading and supporting our staff to deliver high-quality care to our residents. Schedule:
The work schedule is rota-based, primarily covering weekdays, with one weekend day required every two weeks and the third weekend fully off. You will also participate in an on-call rota, providing support outside of regular working hours.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and inspire a team of Support Workers to deliver exceptional care, ensuring the safety, well-being, and personal development of each young person.
- Safeguarding: Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, ensuring all practices align with our commitment to the safety and welfare of the young people in our care.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and that care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments are current and accurately reflect each young person’s needs.
- Staff Development: Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
- Innovative Care: Engage in a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities, both within the home and the wider community, to promote the social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.
- Operational Management: Assist in the day-to-day operations, including rota management, budget oversight, and stepping in as manager when the Registered Manager is absent.
- On-call Duties: Participate in a rostered on-call system, offering support and guidance outside regular working hours.
- Competitive Salary: £31,000 - £32,240 per year, with opportunities for overtime.

- Essential:
- Minimum of a Level 3 diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent, with a willingness to work towards a Level 5 diploma.
- At least 2 years of experience in a residential childcare setting.
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally as a senior support worker.
- Comprehensive understanding of Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted Requirements.
- Desirable:
- Experience in managing budgets and staff rotas.
- A genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
- Full UK driving licence.
