We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team.
Job Overview: The Quantity Surveyor will play a vital role in the team by performing detailed take-offs and preparing comprehensive cost estimates for various construction projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Quantity Take-Offs: Perform detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labour, equipment, and overheads.
  • Valuations & Variations: Support customers with running their projects and completing valuations and variations on the projects won.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update cost databases, estimate files, and project documentation.
  • Bid Preparation: Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, ensuring all required information is accurate and complete.
  • Communication: Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the estimating team and other departments to ensure cohesive and comprehensive project estimates.
  • Analysis: Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in estimating software and tools.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience as an estimator in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
